From Failing to Thriving (FFTT) is a community-based curriculum developed for at-risk teens. FFTT includes five progressive stages of going From Failing to Thriving with key points at each stage designed as learning outcomes for participants to store in their toolbelts to access throughout life. Each FFTT stage connects to a city theme where youth engage with local businesses and individuals who share candidly about personal experiences related to the key points.
Our teen-participants can expect to be accompanied by a student workbook as they introspectively reflect upon the FFTT process and directly apply it to life. In addition, FFTT activities are loaded with rich experiential learning, frequent field trips, and relevant lessons. Since 2009 when FFTT was first developed, our participants have found FFTT programs to be both engaging and thought-provoking, creating demand for expansion thus Thrive City was born.
Song to Lyrics project: FFTT Song, written and recorded by teen-participants and community partners.
